Ok, I’ve upgraded the forum to the latest version of Vanilla. Looks much better. The goal of this will be the same as before: to provide a forum where users can post topics without fear of them disappearing into the ether.
A lot has been said on the mootools google groups about the disappearance of the official mootools forum. Its is plain and clear that people are upset about it being pulled down. Its ever more of an issue when the people running mootools don’t respond to the community on the topic. This in itself deserves a whole new blog post which I’ll be getting to shortly.
In the meantime, I plan to rescue what I can of the “official” forum topics and place them in a special category in the forums. They will be read-only to maintain their integrity. But the other forum categories will be open for all registered members to post their mootools javascripts and questions about features.
My small part for the mootools community. Now to get the documentation back up for version 1.11 and 1.2.
Had to migrate blog system from Mephisto to Wordpress due to problems with Bluehost. But all is good. Will get other info in the new system as soon as possible.
In the meantime, just to get things started, this website is an unofficial blog and forum for all things related to the popular Mootools Javascript library. Mootools has upgraded to version 1.2 and in their great wisdom have eliminated their forums (hopefully temporarily). This has caused a large emergence of “unofficial” forums with no centralized area for all things mootools. Including this page.
Hopefully, I’ll have previous content back up in the new system soon, as well as upgrading the forum software. Till then, please be patient. We’ll have more articles on css, javascript, and other goodies all relating to our favorite javascript library.
